Reducing the space has made all the difference

Barbara-Ann Jenkins turned her back on open-plan living and re-instated a wall and working fire in order to create her cosy and colourful living room
Before

While most homebuyers contemplate removing walls, Barbara-Ann Jenkins couldn’t wait to started rebuilding them when she moved into her three-bedroom semi, in North Wales, with husband, Mark, and children, Megan and Lily. ‘The living and dining rooms had been knocked into one and, although a generous size, the space felt really cold and impersonal, furniture placement was a nightmare, and I hated the ugly arch that stood in place of the old wall,’ she recalls. Her plan was to restore the original two-room layout, and create a more inviting living space for all the family.

Total Cost £4,238
