Furniture facelift

Feature and styling Sophie Holt

We are big fans of recycling here at Your Home and nothing goes to waste – so when we had a few handy scaffold boards leftover from an old project, we knew we had to put them to good use. By cutting, sanding, painting and adding a hanging bar underneath we transformed them into useful kitchen shelves – that could work just as well in any room.

You will need

✓ three scaffold boards ✓ tape measure ✓ pencil ✓saw PSM 10,8 LI multisander, £89.99, Bosch ✓ damp cloth ✓ screwdriver ✓ hammer ✓ PSB 18 LI-2 ergonomic drill, £100, Bosch ✓ countersink bit ✓ screws ✓ Urbane Grey eggshell, £27 per litre, Little Greene ✓ paint brush ✓ 2” x 2” batten ✓ industrial style rail, £30, Cox & Cox ✓ four metal end caps, optional
