TREND ALERT... oriental

Relax at home with a tranquil scheme

Pretty and feminine, the oriental trend this season is filled with flowers, pastel shades, and prints inspired by nature, giving your home a fresh and tranquil feel all year round.

For a delicate scheme choose pastel shades of pink, coral and jade, teamed with light woods and airy fabrics. For a stronger look introduce bolder tones, such as royal blue, or tangerine, and combine them with darker furniture and sumptuous fabrics. Alternatively opt for a simple, pared back scheme, with clean shapes, and washed out blues and lilacs paired with soft whites – perfect if you don’t want your scheme to be too girlie.

Pattern-wise look out for kimono-inspired designs with floral prints such as cherry blossom, chrysanthemum, magnolia and willow. Exotic birds, peacocks, cranes and koi are also key for an eastern-inspired look.
