Solo sailor saved by lifeboat

AN AIR traffic controller attempting to halve the solo sailing dinghy record from Land’s End to John O’Groats was towed into Campbeltown by the Wee Toon lifeboat.

Ken Fowler, 51, from Muddiford near Bournemouth, has just 34 days of his annual leave to break the record which currently stands at 64 days.
