NEARLY DEPARTED, a laugh a minute farce, set in an NHS ward dominated by a photo of Jeremy Hunt, pulled all the right strings at the 68th Kintyre Argyll District drama festival.

Adjudicator, Bruce Adams, who drove through torrential rain from Kirkcaldy and made it to Campbeltown by the skin of his teeth, only found minor quibbles in naming the play best production last Friday in Victoria hall.
