Gaelic ‘Oscar’ for pupils’ movie magic


A FEATURE film about travel troubles due to a ferry cancellation struck gold for Islay high school pupils.

Air Splaoid was crowned the winner of the Learner’s Award in front of a star-studded audience at FilmG, the National Gaelic Film ceremony in Glasgow, organised by MG ALBA.

The theme of this year’s competition was ‘Strì/Endeavour’ which inspired 105 entries by promising young filmmakers and screen writers from across Scotland.
