A man found guilty of racially abusing a Polish family after a six-month Campbeltown Sherifit Court trial has had his sentence deferred.
Graeme Robert Carlyle, 40, of 20 Shore Street, Campbeltown, shouted racially abusive remarks and made threats towards the family at Kilmashenachan Caravan Park, Southend, in June last year.
Evidence from the Polish couple, their son and another man corroborated that Carlyle made derogatory remarks in reference to the family’s ethnicity, including referring to them as the site owner’s ‘f****** Polish friends’ and ‘Polish b*******’ and saying they’d ‘been here too long’. Three police officers, who attended the caravan site after a disturbance was reported, also appeared as witnesses.
