Sir,
As with the appalling UK energy strategy at Hinkley Point, wind and solar farms, Brexit, NHS, railways, the polluted air of towns and cities, local bank closures, interest rates, cuts to the army and air force, it is good to see the government has its hands fully on the tiller regarding the defence of our seas.
What worthy person or persons deem it an excellent idea to sell the aircraft carrier HMS Ocean to Brazil for £84 million just four years after a £65 million refit? It is superb, far-sighted and forward planning – never mind, they say there is an awful lot of coffee in Brazil – so perhaps the government will now get a great discount on imported coffee beans, especially after Brexit?
