THERE were no cases of drink driving recorded in Campbeltown over the festive period despite the national average increasing.
Chief Inspector Marlene Bailey, the area commander, told a meeting of Campbeltown Community Council on Tuesday evening that police officers carried out numerous traffic checks in Campbeltown, however all breath tests came back negative.
This is in contrast to the nation as a whole, as 3.3 per cent of drivers tested for drink driving this festive season were found to be over the limit, compared to 2.8 per cent the year before.
