Petrol was not the cause of filling station blaze

FIRE raged at a Campbeltown petrol station when a car burst into fl ames.

Disaster was stopped in its tracks on Monday afternoon when firefighters – praised as ‘brave’ and ‘courageous’ on social media – raced to County garage and extinguished the fire at the back of a car.

At 3.11pm staff dialled 999 and precisely seven minutes later, at 3.18pm, the retained firemen, some of whom had travelled across town to get to the fire station, were in action.
