The agricultural industry is worth millions of pounds to the West Highland economy. Not just farmers but their service industries: transport, feed, markets, agricultural engineering, right down to the accountancy and legal professions.

It is also an industry responsible for helping shape the look, and social structure, of our landscape and its communities.

So a day celebrating the Finest achievements of this industry is a day to support, to go along, and join in -either watching or entering the home-produce sections, where everyone can have a go - you don’t need to own a pedigree bull or a prize ram to come away from a show with first-prize red card.

You’ll find out more about the shows listed here on their websites and facebook pages.

Farming is a round-the-clock, all-day-every-day business so a show has always given farmers and their families a day to catch up with old friends and family. It also gives everyone a chance to eye-up the opposition - just watch all the farmers round the stock pens before and after judging.
