Planners blow to windfarm objectors

THE LATEST phase of a Kintyre windfarm has gained planning approval despite objections.

Argyll and Bute councillors have voted to allow Scottish Power Renewables to site 18 further turbines at Beinn an Tuirc on Forestry Commission land above Torrisdale.

Dubbed Phase Three this would bring the total turbines on the site to 64, increasing capacity to 73.4 mega watts.
