AN EDINBURGH sheriff sentencing a Campbeltown man to 210 hours of unpaid work said ‘naivety and poor judgement in a young person’ had contributed to the death of a French student.
Almost five weeks after disappearing from a college party in 2016, the body of 21-yearold Antoine Maury, was found in Duddingston Loch.
At the city’s Sheriff Court on Wednesday, fellow student 20-yearold Scott Mckerral of Ralston Road, was placed under supervision for 18 months and ordered to do 210 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. Mckerral previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, the fungus containing psilocin, ‘magic mushrooms’, to Antoine Maury.
