LAST night, as the Courier went to press, three of the four general election contenders for the Argyll and Bute seat, on June 8, were due to attend a hustings meeting in Campbeltown.
Former Argyll and Bute MP Alan Reid, the Scottish LibDem candidate; most recent MP, the SNP’s candidate, Brendan O’Hara; and Labour candidate Michael Kelly, all confirmed they would be there.
Due to a longstanding prior commitment, the Conservative candidate, Gary Mulvaney, said he was unable to attend the event at Lorne and Lowland church hall.
