BUDDING sports stars from across Kintyre managed to keep their feet despite the dismal rain at the washed out Mid Argyll Sports Day.

Promoted by Mid Argyll Athletic Club and held at Lochgilphead Joint Campus School last Sunday, the competition saw the first use of the newly installed jumps facility.

The all-weather surface immediately proved its worth as it held up in the almost constant rain that start ed an hour before the events started.
