Campbeltown police officers motored to Machrihanish last Sunday and met two of the men behind the success of the Mach 1 rally. Earlier, deputy stage commander Stewart Paton had warned motor race competitors to observe speed limits on the way out of Kintyre, up the A83, as the police ‘may well be out with speed cameras’. MOBILE network operator O2 will start work at the end of July to connect Campbeltown to its 4G service.
The firm begins installing 4G in Oban next week, as well as ‘improving its 2G and 3G network in Argyll and Bute’.
