THE PEACE of Christmas, when parts of the world rest for at least one day, comes this year as danger seems ever present, much as it did a century ago in 1916.
All over the world this week there have been frightening headlines, including an assassination in Turkey which may have much wider repercussions.
Just such an event, geographically close and in a world of rising tension, was a catalyst for the for the outbreak of the First World War in 1914.
