A SINGLE malt that is a quarter of a century old and dominated by maritime influences set sail on the first day of Campbeltown Malts Festival.
A select audience was invited to Glen Scotia, founded in 1832, to watch as whisky connoisseur and author Charles Maclean nosed and sampled a dram at the distillery’s open day on Wednesday.
Mr Maclean described the 25-yearold single malt’s light sweetness, with a hint of saltiness and spice, in line with Glen Scotia’s distinct character.
