A GLASGOW-based Kintyre born artist’s mining show has revealed the underside of life down the pit.
Jan Nimmo has worked tirelessly since October last year to create and curate an exhibition at the Old Kiln room in Glen Scotia distillery to mark the 50th anniversary since coal miners put down their picks in 1967 and the gates closed for the last time on the Argyll Colliery.
The exhibition includes work by primary and secondary pupils, a digital presentation of collected images and a series of drawings by Jan portraying many of the colliery workers.
