Greenkeeper uses course knowledge to crack Jimmy Kerr Memorial Open

DAVID IRWIN used his intimate knowledge of the Machrihanish course to help him take the Jimmy Kerr Memorial Open title.

Competition was stiff for the open, played on Saturday August 6, but David, one of a fine team of greenkeeping staff, scored a fantastic 72-5-67. His round included five birdies, including both of the last two holes.
