Mairi Semple Fund’s 40th birthday bash

AN UP-and-coming ceilidh band blew in from Tiree on a stormy night to boost a Kintyre cancer charity’s funds.

Trail West headlined The Mairi Semple Fund’s 40th birthday celebration last Saturday and were given free accommodation at Grammar Lodge by proprietor Kirsteen Ross.

Campbeltown town hall was filled to the rafters and one fundraiser said: ‘It was a well-danced ceilidh; the floor area was packed and there were a few new tunes and some Canadian barn dance numbers.’
