Welcome to the May 2022 issue of Canadian Yachting magazine! Spring is in the air across Canada and our readers are preparing to launch their boats and get back to where we want to be – on the water!
That is…on the water hosting friends and family! The featured article in CY May 2022 is called Hosting Onboard - The Evolution of Boating Enjoyment. With more than 6 pages and 14 grand photos, this is a big spread that looks at the major design changes in sail and power boats over the past decade. To better understand what is driving these design changes, we contacted the designers, product specialists and marketing experts at several of the top boat builders.
More and more families are buying a boat to enjoy their special vacations and social occasions together, especially after the last two years of COVID. See what design changes and features highlight the new boats and accommodate those special social occasions.
With so much interest in electric boats we were really excited to finally drive the X Shore Eelex 8000. This is one of the first larger electric boats to actually reach the market. So, does the X Shore live up to the promise? We found it to be distinctive, practical and innovative. See all the details in the May issue of Canadian Yachting.
The Viko S35 is also reviewed by Catherine Stone and it’s an impressively affordable cruiser with solid performance and all the important features.
Our Canadian Destination is Cowichan Bay in B.C.. Author Marianne Scott has often explored Cowichan Bay in B.C. and she guides you through the community to all the places you would want to visit on your trip there.
Continuing with our DIY and Technical editorial, Andrew McDonald looks at what it takes to add (or replace) various types of thrusters.
All this and more is in the exciting May 2022 issue of Canadian Yachting magazine. Enjoy!
