“I fished this iconic venue when it was at its very peak: a huge simmering cauldron of carpfishing heritage and history, containing some of the most sort-after carp this country has ever produced. Mary was the British record and many of the other fish in the lake were magazine cover stars in their own right. It was an awesome venue with a brilliant, cheerful crowd of anglers, and a delicious set of fish. It was carp-fishing paradise! I can remember every single bite I had there as if they was yesterday!”
