STEVIE NICKS RELEASES HER DEBUT SOLO ALBUM, BELLA DONNA
CLASSIC MOMENTS
27 JULY 1981
Stevie Nicks was six years into her tenure with Fleetwood Mac when she released her debut solo album, Bella Donna, in 1981. Beginning work on the record in 1979, in between sessions for Fleetwood Mac’s 12th LP (though third for her) Tusk, Bella Donna saw Nicks perform alongside backing vocalists Sharon Celani and Lori Perry with an idea that they would sound like “the girl version of Crosby, Stills & Nash”.
