DAVID BOWIE READY, SET, GO!
PARLOPHONE
★★★★✩
The first Bowie live album for RSD since 2020’s Soul Tour ’74 is an intimate Hammersmith Riverside show the week before Reality was released in 2003. The album is played in order, before an encore of Hallo Spaceboy and two songs from 2002’s Heathen. These versions are fairly faithful, with Never Get Old particularly sleazy blues and Fall Dog Bombs The Moon sumptuously chilled. Bowie’s introductions, made for virtually every song, are reliably hilarious, though you wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of David’s testiness to his band.
