DUSTY SPRINGFIELD REPUTATION
RHINO
★★★★✩
Reputation could almost have been called ‘Resurrection’ when it arrived in 1990. It was Dusty’s first album in eight years, and her highest-charting, biggest seller since 1970. A large part was down to PSB’s stewardship of half the album, having retrieved Dusty from exile for What Have I Done To Deserve This?. They produced the hits In Private and Nothing Has Been Proved, wooing a new generation and reminding others of Dusty’s amazingness. Here’s a welcome opportunity to revisit her late-period majesty, and her role in PSB’s imperial phase.
