5 PAGE SUMMER STYLE SPECIAL!
Who better to give us the low-down on all things Ibiza than resident Jenny Frost? She says: “When it comes to style in Ibiza, anything goes! The biggest misconception is that it’s super-glamorous all the time, but it’s really not – dressing down on a night out is just as acceptable as making a huge effort. It depends on your vibe; no one will judge you.
“Confidence is key here. The most stylish women are the ones who own it, whatever their shape or size. I see tons of women around our hotel pool [The Beach Star Ibiza, which is run by Jenny and her husband, Vicente Juan Spiteri] and the most beautiful ones are those having a great time, instead of worrying what they look like – I wish someone had told me that 20 years ago.
“There are some amazing boutiques here. If I was going to a beach club or a day party I’d head to Woman Story in Ibiza Town, which is boho-styled. Also, Sluiz in Santa Gertrudis sells really cool fashion and homeware and has a bar in store as well. D.Lain in Ibiza Town has some eclectic pieces and great jewellery.
“Everything is much more relaxed in Ibiza, so I’ve had to adapt my wardrobe. Plus, in high season it’s very hot, so lighter fabrics and looser cuts will help to keep you cool. I don’t waste money on designer clothes I won’t ever wear – my priorities have changed now.
“Whether you’re here to party or relax with the kids, my essential Ibiza wardrobe items are Havaianas flip-flops, a huge bag, a hat to keep the sun off and a cool cover-up that you can throw over a bikini and wear to a bar at night. Anything else is up to you.”
DENIM DUTY
“Cut-off denim shorts are an island staple.”
