Before Christmas, GForce debuted a new softsynth, AXXESS, that takes its cues from ARP’s 1975 AXXE synth. Originally conceived as being something of a budget ARP Odyssey, the AXXE still had its high-profile champions (among them, Paul McCartney). GForce’s new software take is derived from the original hardware and includes 350 presets, a full-fat sub-oscillator, a huge assortment of in-built effects and a handy Vintage control which you can use to dial in some of that old-school grit. An independent LFO and Envelope for every parameter underlines how the software version can go far beyond what the original was capable of, with the ‘X Modifiers’ allowing you to exceed the sonic potential of its revered inspiration. It’s available now for £66, and you can find out more at GForce’s website below. www.gforcesoftware.com
