Much rumoured, NI have lifted the lid on a standalone new version of their acclaimed Maschine groovebox and sampling platform, delivering that famous pad-based performance, sequencing and processing workflow without a Mac or PC in sight. Maschine+ looks like the Maschine Mk3 controller, but under the hood sits a Linux-based computer that runs the full Maschine DAW software, complete with NI synths, including FM8, Massive, Monark and Prism. Storage is expandable, and wireless connectivity enables easy installation of Expansion packs. It’s fully self-contained, and the price is €1299. Very much looking forward to getting it on our test bench.
