A 909 emulation with a difference, D16 Group’s Drumazon 2 builds on the first instalment of its Roland Rhythm Composer-based drum machines; with a modern interface, it speeds up the process of accessing those accurately-modelled retro sounds. Each drum sound has an independent channel strip which can be routed to two sends that feature eight effects before reaching a master section with a three-band compressor and a limiter. Drumazon 2 can be controlled with a MIDI keyboard to more easily capture your performances. MIDI out lets you control other hardware and software instruments via the internal sequencer, and you can also export your internal sequences to MIDI. As D16 state: “Its effect chains help you dial in your sound, its improved workflow puts you in the driving seat and its sequencer presets and randomizer offer inspiration you never expected.” Out now for £99/$119/€119. www.d16.pl
