Previously announced as the launch of a new umbrella company called Soundwide, last month, Brainworx and Plugin Alliance were officially declared to be joining iZotope as part of Native Instruments. By way of explanation, the bosses of the company formerly known as Soundwide are now saying that they’re moving forward with the NI name on the masthead because it’s “more familiar to our community,” which is certainly true. This is more than just a rebranding exercise, though. In the future, you can expect to be able to use one login across all the brands, while NI’s Native Access will become the preferred destination for installing products from across the brands’ portfolios, negating the need for multiple similar tools. We’re promised a “one-stop shop”. You can expect to see this rolled out later in the year.
