A HOMEOWNER’S WORK IS NEVER DONE. That’s not how the real phrase goes, but the adaptation rings true for anyone who has lovingly and maybe obsessively fussed over his or her house. For lovers of old homes and old-home character, this can mean something very functional and utilitarian. From updating cabinets and hardware or lighting and fflooring, to sourcing vintage and period finds that add aged character to your new home, there’s always something that can be updated or rejuvenated.
Or if it’s designing and redesigning a room or décor scheme, there are trends and new style discoveries that deserve to be incorporated. As time passes and we settle into our spaces, we discover things our rooms need to be more comfortable, inviting and helpful. And the truth of the matter is many of us creating and reading this magazine just plain don’t want it to end. Dreaming up and designing the perfect home is our pastime, our lifestyle. We continually try to bring the concept of the dream home to life. I love always dreaming of new ways to make my home more special, and I hope this issue is filled with insight, inspiration and information to keep your dreams going too.
