W e have put together a bumper issue of Dancing Times for you this month, which, running at 148 pages, embraces a huge variety of dance styles. Some of you will also be reading Dancing Times for the first time at MOVE IT, the annual dance event for which the magazine has been a media sponsor since its inception back in 2006; we hope you enjoy what you see.
At the recent Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards, the ensemble of the stage musical 42nd Street, currently wowing audiences at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, won the Award for Outstanding Company. It was received by its star, Clare Halse, and in an interview we find out about her career in dance. In addition, we feature the musical Strictly Ballroom, which is about to open in London’s West End.
Also in this issue, choreographer Richard Alston celebrates 50 years of dance-making, Avatâra Ayuso reports from the Women in Dance Leadership Conference held in New York, and Nicola Rayner gives her impressions of the UK Open Dance Championships. Dancing Times

I think more contemporary dance reviews and dance artists from this discipline are missing. I love the magazine, it only seems to cover mainly ballet and ballroom. Reviewed 15 August 2020
