We are pleased to present the very first issue of DANZA&DANZA INTERNATIONAL.
After thirty-two years, we’re launching Danza&Danza magazine in English. It’s not just a copy of the historic Italian edition but a new format created with curious readers from every corner of the globe in mind. Readers who want to know more about the stars of the past and present but who are also interested in delving into the Italian dance scene with its wonderful theatres and festivals. Here we open a window onto the world of dance through interviews, articles and cultural analysis curated by the same editorial staff as always, and through the selection of captivating images that attempt to convey the magic of theatre. But that’s not all. In the age of Internet we have decided to add exclusive multimedia content for you. Every issue includes dancewords in motion, a series curated by the journalist and director Francesca Pedroni that gives voice and movement to the stars of our art form of choice. Original short films will introduce you to unique artists. The first dancewords in motion appointment had to be with Teatro alla Scala and the most prominent dance pairing on the Italian scene, Nicoletta Manni and Timofej Andrijashenko.
Then, when you turn the pages, you will find Maria Vinogradova, Leading Soloist of the Moscow Bolshoi; Friedemann Vogel, Principal dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet; the Israeli choreographer Roy Assaf; a report from Amsterdam on the future of classical ballet; the new artistic projects of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto; Christian Spuck, the Director of the Ballet Zürich Ballet and much more.
