Dear international readers, we trust you will forgive us if we dedicate a few pages to ourselves in this issue. The Italian-language print version of DANZA&DANZA is celebrating its 300th publication. We are immensely proud of this achievement: the magazine has been going for thirty-six years without interruption, not even during the pandemic and the unprecedented theatre closures. The stories in this issue offer a glimpse into our origins: how we have changed over time, reflecting changes in the wider world of publishing, the tech revolution and globalization. We are immensely grateful to all those who, whether they are still with us or not, have contributed to the success of this project. For this special issue our cover story features one of the queens of the international dance scene: Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, who returns to perform on an Italian stage once again at the age of sixty. We also met up with Jacopo Tissi, the Italian Lead Soloist at the Bolshoi Ballet. He told us how he has developed as an artist through the array of roles he has performed with the company in the latest busy months.
For more than a century, patronage and support for the arts has been intrinsic to the vision of an enlightened High Jewellery Maison, Van Cleef & Arpels, which has always taken a special interest in dance and ballet. The issue also presents news from around the world, reviews and a special memory dedicated to a great artist who died this past August, the kind, visionary man that was Micha van Hoecke.
