Two oil paintings by Silvestro Lega, one of the artists of the Italian Macciaioli movement who flourished in the latter part of the 19th century, are among the works being shown at the BIAF by the Societa di Belle Arti from Viareggio.
Passegiata in giardino (A stroll in the garden) and Un dopo pranzo (After lunch), the latter pictured above, measure 9 x 7in (23 x 18cm) and 10 x 6in (25.5 x 15cm) and are dated 1864 and 1868 respectively. They have been shown together since the post-war period and featured in a number of Macciaioli exhibitions.
