LOCHGILPHEAD’S David MacInnes has received one of the greatest gifts he could hope for this Christmas - a letter from a leukaemia sufferer who is now living life to the full.
David MacInnes donated stem cells to an anonymous dad-of-two in October 2015. He received the letter a few weeks ago to say that the recipient is thriving and free from illness two years after the life-saving treatment.
The letter from the recipient reads: ‘October 2017. It has now been two years since your donation and I am pleased to say things are good. I have had very few problems that are normally experienced post transplant.’
