Exciting Tarbert Book Festival ahead

A SCHOOL visit by a top children’s writer will raise the curtain on a fantastic Tarbert Book Festival later this month.

The fifth edition of this popular festival opens on Friday October 27 the with a visit from Theresa Breslin to Tarbert Academy. Local writer Ken MacTaggart will also give a presentation to the pupils about his new book, The Haynes Astronaut Manual.

On Saturday, writer and presenter Paul Murton will talk about his recent BBC Grand Tours series The Islands. Continuing the island theme, geologist Alan McKirdy will talk about his book Argyll and the Islands, a fascinating insight into the rocks beneath us.
