Corrie Early Years class has been shortlisted to receive a Play More award as part of an initiative aimed at encouraging children to enjoy more time playing outdoors.
Play More was set up to help deserving nurseries and early years classes improve their outdoor play areas through financial support or murals. It is an initiative set up by Sudocrem and has been designed to encourage parents and children to get back in touch with nature and explore the greatest playground on earth – the outdoors. As part of the campaign, Play More asked parents to nominate a deserving nursery with Corrie Early Years class being nominated and shortlisted to receive support for its outdoor play area. The campaign, which is now in its third year, is run with the support of Play Scotland which also encourages children to enjoy outdoor activities, fresh air, exercise and exploring nature.
Once all of the nominations are collated, five successful nurseries will receive a grant towards playground regeneration and five will receive an attractive mural painted by award-winning artist Joy Pirkle.
