Mary’s Meals raises more than £1,000 at island event

Representatives from Mary’s Meals UK headquarters visited Lamlash Church last week to thank everyone on the island for their generous donations.

Representatives Fran Lawson and Lucy Kirkland thanked community members and fundraisers such as the Arran church collections, the Arran Singers’ Christmas concert, various Skinnymalinks weigh-ins, Craft & Co pencil cases and Knit Ħ Natter for their ongoing contributions over the years.

Fran and Lucy led the church service last Sunday and then joined everyone in the church hall for a simple soup and bread lunch. Easter goodies were on sale, thanks to all the hard work and efforts of the Knit & Natter group which has been collecting in the residents’ lounge of Trust Homes in McKelvie Court, Lamlash, for the past six weeks.
