A new group has been formed on Arran to work towards making it Scotland’s first plastic-free island.
To be called Think About Plastic (TAP), a steering group has been set up from organisations and businesses across Arran to promote the idea of working towards a plastic-free island, in line with the Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) campaign for plastic-free coastlines.
TAP has many plans to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic thrown away on Arran. Chaired by Helen How, and with support from Eco Savvy, the Community of Arran Seabed Trust (COAST), the Co-op and NAC councillors Timothy Billings and Ellen McMaster, TAP will liaise with island businesses, shops and cafes, as well as community halls, schools and other groups.
