Scotland’s premier hill walking and mountaineering festival gets under way this weekend with a full programme of activities that attracts hillwalkers from all across the globe to the magnificent mountains of Arran.
The Arran Mountain Festival, now in its 12th year and taking place from today (Friday) until Monday, offers a range of walks from the modestly-rated Holy Isle mountain walk to the extreme A’Chir ridge scramble – there is something for every level of ability.
This year the jam-packed programme, which offers 20 walks for 156 participants over four days, is already fully booked for Friday and Saturday, with a few remaining spaces available on Sunday and Monday. Still on offer, but due to be snapped up quickly, are the following walks
