Arran Federation SWI held its annual rally in the Kinloch Hotel last Thursday. Members were honoured to have as their guest speaker Janice Langely, chairwoman of the NFWI, which covers all institutes in England, Wales and the islands.

Starting with the first institute in Anglesey 100 years ago, it now has a membership of 225,000 with institutes ranging from 300 members meeting in a cathedral to five established in prisons.
