The 89th Isle of Arran Music Festival started off on the right foot on Wednesday with a healthy turnout for the Scottish country dancing category.
The festival which returned to Whiting Bay Hall this year continued throughout the week and culminated in a concert yesterday (Friday) which included the musical categories and performances of individuals as well as ensembles.
Adjudicated by Eric Findlay in the Scottish country dancing categories, Arran’s own Heather Gough adjudicated the speech and drama categories while Lesley Wilson oversaw the vocal and instrumental categories. And as a usual fixture, Lorna Buchanan-Hollingworth was the official accompanist. Certificates were awarded to all participants in the festival and a host of trophies were presented for each category.
