The number of patients waiting more than eight hours to be seen in Ayrshire and Arran’s A&Es has more than doubled since last month, statistics from NHS Information Services Division have revealed.
With only the first two weeks of August’s figures collated, the data already shows 53 people have waited more than eight hours compared to 22 people in July.
The week Sunday August 6 to Sunday August 13 saw 25 people wait more than eight hours in A&E before being seen - more than the entire month of July.
