WITH a shot at Newark’s Chad Sugden for the vacant Midlands Area light-heavyweight title pencilled in for Harvey Hadden Sports Village in July, Nottingham’s Polish-born Sebastian Slusarczyk banked six mostly one-sided rounds at Bingham Leisure Centre. Latvia’s Edgars Sniedze was dropped once in each of the opening two rounds prior to losing 60-53 from the evening’s referee Shaun Messer. Sniedze finished with a badly bloodied nose.
Old foes, now pals, Nathan Kirk of Stapleford and Hereford’s Dean Evans put their friendship aside for the duration of a four. At the culmination, Nathan, who began well but then saw Dean rally in the third, gained revenge for a 2016 defeat by virtue of a 40-37 win.
