AFTER a successful debut promotion at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in late November, Costakis Evangelou MBE wasted little time in returning to the venue. A pair of six-rounders, one up at welter and another at feather, shared bill-topping honours. Both bouts resulted in successes for home boxers against Spain-based Latin American opposition. Bermondsey’s hard-hitting six-footer Chris Kongo proved too strong for Mexican Fernando Valencia, improving to 11-0 as a consequence of his win. Meanwhile, Hayes’ Fuaad Husseen, unbeaten in five going in, maintained his 100 per cent record by seeing off Nicaragua-born Pablo Narvaez. Three fours, overseen by referee-forthe- night Kieran McCann, all left the home supporters happy.
Tony “TNT” Bange of Wraysbury secured his seventh straight points win by outscoring Norwich’s experienced Duane Green.
