Proposed soldiers’ memorial AT A MEETING of the fishermen of
Campbeltown held on Saturday last – Mr G M Richmond, president of the Fishermen’s Association, presiding – it was unanimously resolved to set aside a sum of not less than £100.
In the event of a committee being constituted, in due course, with a view to fixing a site and erecting a public memorial to the memory of the brave boys who left this neighbourhood and have yielded the supreme sacrifice for king and country, the above-named sum will be handed over as a contribution from the fishermen of the town for this purpose
