A FORMER council building in Campbeltown is to be demolished and replaced by houses.
Council employees vacated the Witchburn Road building at the end of 2016 as part of the office rationalisation project, which saw them move to modern office accommodation at Kintyre House in the town.
At its meeting on Thursday, December 14, members of the council’s Community Services Committee agreed that the building be demolished and that the costs should be met from the Strategic Housing Fund on the understanding the site was made available for a future housing development.
