A FEMALE Clydesdale horse was stuck fast in six feet of soft ground until Campbeltown firefighters’ heavy brigade trotted into action.
Writing on social media, a fire station spokesperson said: ‘Firefighters were faced with an extremely difficult situation in freeing the horse as all surrounding ground was soft.
‘Firefighters managed to position two strops around the horse by digging by hand, so as not to damage or hurt the horse, along with Mr David Ralston and one of our local vets’ guidance.
